Most families see a significant improvement within 1-2 weeks. If you follow the plan closely, changes often come sooner than that. If you choose the in-room settling method, progress is generally more gradual.

It is never too late. We work with families whose little ones have been waking through the night for years, fighting bedtime and ending up co-sleeping out of desperation because nothing else seems to work. Your little one is so clever though and they adapt quickly. So most families see real change within a couple of weeks of starting the plan.

When we introduce any kind of change for our little ones, some protest is a normal and expected response. It is the same as when they push back at a nappy change or being put into their car seat. However, our methods are responsive and we do not advocate cry-it-out.

The guide includes two settling methods suited to this age group. The first is an in-room method. The second is a method where you will come in and out of the room frequently to reassure them. Both methods include clear time limits so it never feels open-ended or out of your control.

Also, exactly what to do if your little one keeps getting out of bed. Most families see a much calmer bedtime within the first week.

Only if you want to. A bedtime milk is absolutely fine for many toddlers when it sits separately from the actual moment of falling asleep. The guide shows you how to gently move milk away from being the thing that sends your toddler to sleep, so they have the skill to settle without it. If your little one currently needs milk to fall back asleep in the night, we will work on that too.
